The Concept

The Message in a Bottle concept encourages individuals to record and store their basic personal and medical details in a place where, in the event of an emergency, they can be easily found and accessed by Emergency teams.

How does it work?

• The Portmarnock Lions Club will give you a Plastic Container (i.e., the Bottle) with a form and three green self-adhesive crosses.
• Complete all sections of the form with your personal information and medical details.
• Place the completed form into the Bottle and close the lid of the Bottle.
• Place the closed Bottle inside your Refridgerator on one of the shelves of the door.
• Attach one of the green self-adhesive crosses onto the outside on your Refrigerator door.
• Attach one of the green self-adhesive crosses to the inside of your Front door, ensuring that it is clearly visible.
• Attach one of the green self-adhesive crosses to the inside of your Back door, ensuring that it is clearly visible.

In the event of an accident or incident within the home, the first responder/emergency services on the scene will be alerted to the bottle by the green self-adhesive label on your doors.
